Workshop A: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm

Best Practices In Implementing Lifecycle-based Asset Management Programs

Based on extensive research, experience and collaboration, this practical workshop will help you to apply best practices to your lifecycle asset management program. The methodology for municipal use was determined through participation with the NRC – Municipal Infrastructure Investment Planning project. The workshop will help to establish a comprehensive framework incorporating:

  • Acquisition, operation, maintenance, renewal, and disposal costs
  • Considerations for user cost
  • Data capture, analysis and systems integration

This practical workshop will ultimately give you the tools to determine a sustainability index for your infrastructure.

Sam Sidawi, P.Eng., Practice Leader, Sustainable Asset Management, AECOM
Ross C Homeniuk, MBA, P.Eng., Technical Leader, Sustainable Asset Management, AECOM

Workshop B: 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Change Management Strategies: Solidifying Your Asset Management Team With A Clearly Defined Organizational Development Plan

As municipal asset management takes a greater role in determining and closing the infrastructure gap, considerable organizational change must occur in a timely and smooth way. Information sharing, cooperation and collaboration between previously separate departments are key elements. An integrated change management plan focusing on organizational development will ensure that a municipality will be able to manage its infrastructure challenges efficiently and effectively.

  • Define your goals and vision clearly to implement the plan successfully
  • Transforming existing processes to meet future needs
  • Take a proactive approach to align departments and individuals
  • Implementing enabling technology
  • Ensure continuity for long-term results
